A 15-Year-Old Mother - a Narrow Escape from Death: How Your Support Saved  Margaret:  In the remote village of Okum in Eastern Uganda, Margaret’s childhood was cut short. Forced into marriage at just 12, she gave birth at 13—alone at home, without skilled care. Her baby did not survive. Poverty, harmful traditions, and poor health seeking behaviours had stolen both her youth and her hope. In July 2025, history nearly repeated itself. Now 15 and pregnant again, Margaret labored for days at home. Weak and terrified, she faced the same deadly risks that had claimed her first child. This time, the community intervened. A neighbor notified our local JPM Foundation representative. Within hours, our support team arrived, lifting Margaret to the nearest health facility.
